Hi, I am Amanda Kerby. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and a great passion for offering wider opportunities and support that empowers people and enhances their quality of life.
I’m an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Skilled in Home Care, Clinical Research, Orthopaedics, and Occupational Therapy. My prominent skills are with amputees, orthopaedic injuries, eye injuries, long-term conditions, brain injuries, and palliative care.
I focus on preparing care and occupational therapy reports for the Court. I also work as an independent treating Occupational Therapist. My experience means that I am well placed to assess the care, aids and equipment needs of those seriously injured.
I have undergone training in the medico legal process and recently completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Certificate CUBS) which has sharpened my compliance with Civil Procedure Rules and giving evidence in Court.
The reports focus on a wide range of injuries including disabilities or illness as a result of accidents at home or in the workplace, road traffic accidents and clinical negligence. These disabilities have included brain and spinal injuries, amputees, hand injuries, eye injuries, knee and hip injuries, and abdominal injuries.
Cognitive rehabilitation is designed to help individuals recover from brain injuries or cognitive impairments. Customized treatment plans could include cognitive exercises, compensatory strategies, and education on how to manage symptoms.
Stroke rehabilitation is designed to help patients regain mobility and independence after a stroke. Customized treatment plans include exercises, adaptive equipment, and education on how to prevent future strokes.
Fall prevention treatment is designed to help reduce their risk of falling and maintain someone's independence. Education on falls risk include balance exercises, and home safety modifications.
Geriatric occupational therapy programme helps seniors maintain their independence and quality of life. This involves developing skills necessary for activities of daily living, fall prevention, and cognitive skills.
Home modification helps individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions to live safely and independently in their homes. this involves recommendations and assistance with home modifications, such as grab bars, ramps, and lifts.
